Systems of Collecting
Final Exhibition
Process Work
The first collections I have brought to class, keychains, bottle caps and tickets. After hearing Nathan’s comments, I decided to develop the bottle cap collection to a caps collection; so, I started to collect jar caps, perfume caps, water bottle caps.. etc.
Here is the caps collection that I have collected; however, I was still not pleased with the outcome. So, I looked for a different collection.
I decided to change my Caps collection to a Cup Sleeve collection, where i thought it would be more interesting; so, I’ve been coffee shop hunting to find sleeves in all different kinds, prints and color. Here is what I came up for, in total of 20 sleeves.
Re/Surface
Final Outcome
Process Work
At first, I decided to resurface my book cover with buttons; however, after getting my professor's comment, I changed my mind.
I decided to use press studs from different sizes to re surface my next object. The object I chose to resurface with the press studs is my shoe. Here is the process of press stud hunting.
I began by placing the lager studs in the large spaced areas and then for the Nike swoosh logo, I placed the smaller studs.
For the sole of the shoe, I chose a different color to identify the sole.
KINETICS OF THE AUDIBLE OBJECT

Process Work
My first sketch of the design of the object, inspired by a guitar and oud. After getting comments from my professor, I moved on to a different sketch of the object.
The final sketch for the object. Materials to use are also stated.
So at first, I started measuring for the dado cut. After noticing a minor mistake of my Dado cut, I decided to file and scratch off the extra layer of wood that made my walls uneven. The result can be seen on the right picture.
Close up of my walls.
In the first picture, I worked on the board and the height I wanted my wheel to be at and managed to drill a hole in that place. Second picture, I worked on the wheel itself and it turned out to be almost perfect. I faced a couple of challenges with the loose fit, because it turned the wheel to be unstable and wobbly. To fix that problem, I placed a stopper (small wooden square piece) to stable the wheel while it’s turning.
Details of my wheel. I will attach the 4 guitar pecks (I will use cut out CD pieces instead) in the vertical cut out lines.
Process of making a guitar peck out of a CD and the final design of the wheel.
Used the Jig Saw machine to drill a hole to attach the strings across (which I will be using as horse hairs) and glued the sides to stick together and used a clamp to hold it.
